About the Authors

	Bashyam Anant Bashyam Anant is a seasoned product leader and general manager. He leads product management for Flexera Software's backoffice solutions for software producers and high tech device manufacturers. Previously, Bashyam was Director of Product Management for Yahoo!'s Audience Products Platform. Over the last ten years, he has managed and grown several mini-businesses based on award-winning infrastructure and application software products to over $100M in combined annual revenues. In his prior career in management consulting, he advised leadership teams at companies such as Hewlett-Packard, Boeing, Motorola, 3Com, Qwest and Hughes on business and product strategy.
	Mathieu Baissac Mathieu is the Vice President of Product Management at Flexera Software and is responsible for products sold to software publishers and high-tech manufacturers. He gets energized talking about licensing, entitlements and best business practices. He has worked with hundreds of software publishers and hardware manufacturers – starting in 1994 when he wrote an entitlement management system for one of the largest publishers in the world. His background includes implementing SAP, for the then largest software reseller in the world, manufacturing software package boxes, running licensing call centers, CIO for international companies, and co-founding of an entitlement management solution sold to large and small software/hardware suppliers. One of Mathieu’s passions is to travel to unusual places.
	Anna Connell Anna Connell is Sr. Director of Account Management and Customer Compliance at Flexera Software. Anna has over 16 years experience managing maintenance renewals, compliance programs and sales operations. Prior to joining Flexera Software, Anna was at Oracle for 10 years where she helped create the North America renewals program which is now a multibillion dollar division. In her free time, she is also the US representative of Cambugán Foundation, an environmental NGO based in Ecuador (www.cambugan.org). Anna graduated cum laude with a BA in psychology from UCLA.
	Ripin Checker Ripin Checker is Director of Strategy and Solutions Engineering at Flexera Software. Ripin works closely with intelligent device manufacturers and independent software publishers on business models and monetization strategies. He helps customers bridge the gap between goals/objectives and measurable outcomes with his more than 15 years of experience in business and technology architectures and implementation. Prior to Flexera software, Ripin worked in the Computer Networking industry with companies like Cisco managing P&L and leading product management for multi-billion dollar routing and switching product lines.
	Michael Costa Michael is a Principal Solution Architect with Flexera Software. Michael focuses on helping customers improve their near-term and strategic business results using innovative pricing and licensing models with electronic software licensing and entitlement management. Michael has many years of experience defining, implementing and optimizing software pricing and licensing models, including the customer- and vendor-side processes and infrastructures required to realize substantial and continuous business results.
	Matthew Dunkley Based out of Flexera Software’s Maidenhead, UK office, Matthew Dunkley is a Senior Solution Architect in the area of Entitlement and Compliance Management. Working extensively with Intelligent Device Manufacturers to help them monetise device features, introduce new commercial models, protect valuable intellectual property and provide opportunities for cost reduction, all through the integration of embedded software licensing and associated entitlement management from Flexera Software. Matthew has extensive first-hand industry experience having worked within defence, medical, semiconductor and automotive sectors for the last 20 years, developing embedded software / systems and leading teams. He has also headed the engagement between an Indian engineering and IT services provider and a leading global automotive tier 1 supplier, managing the business for 5 years. This has provided a great insight into the challenges faced by Intelligent Device and hardware manufacturers today.
	Constant Fischer Constant is a Senior Sales Engineer and specialises in Flexera Software Licensing and Application Readiness solutions. Though these two solutions are aimed at different markets (the former is aimed at producers of software and the latter at consumers of software), they have something in common: the management of software usage. This gives Constant a unique insight into how both entities approach the software usage and helps him to assist European ISVs and device manufacturers to optimise their licensing processes. Constant has been working in the software industry in various roles for the last 15 years in companies such as Intel and LANDesk and is based out of Flexera Software’s UK office.
	Victor Hoisington, PMP, ITIL Victor is a PMI Certified PMP and an ITIL Service Master and has worked with software licensing and entitlement management systems for over 20 years. He has led the engineering efforts to create a common software licensing system for Cadence and Synopsis and has spent the last 4 years working as a Project Manager for Flexera Software Global Services leading the implementation of FlexNet applications for our largest and most complicated installations.
	Vikram Koka Vikram Koka is the Vice President of Research and Development at Flexera Software, where he is responsible for engineering for the FlexNet Producer Suite for High-Tech Manufacturers. Prior to joining Flexera Software, Vikram was the Chief Architect for Macrovision across all its product lines, including the DRM, video and game distribution offerings, in addition to software licensing. Vikram has held senior engineering or technical management positions at large companies such as Silicon Graphics (SGI), and LSI Logic as well as startups such as CellMania and SmartDB. Prior to Flexera Software, Vikram’s background includes mobile, ecommerce, enterprise applications (both hosted and on-premise), databases and distributed applications. Vikram has an MS in electrical and computer engineering from the University of California at Santa Barbara, and a BS in electronics & communications engineering from Osmania University, Hyderabad. Vikram currently has 4 patents pending and was one of the early contributors to the GNU Debugger (GDB), a popular open source debugger.
	John Lipsey John Lipsey is Senior Director of Corporate Communications at Flexera Software where he oversees corporate communications strategy, media and analyst relations and social media. He has 18 years of experience in the Enterprise Software, Internet and Online Content industries serving in marketing, corporate communications and business strategy leadership positions. John is also a licensed attorney.
	Tu Le Responsible for product management for Flexera Software's FlexNet Licensing technology (FlexNet Publisher and FlexNet Embedded). Prior to joining Flexera Software he held various positions at SafeNet, including software engineer, sales engineer, and product management. He has over 12 years of security experience in Cryptography, Anti-piracy and Software Licensing and Entitlement Management. He graduated from the University of California, Irvine, he is a savvy technologist and is always thinking outside of the box.
	Randy Littleson Randy Littleson is Senior Vice President, Marketing, for Flexera Software with a distinguished career spanning marketing, business development, software development, professional services, and product management for technology businesses. At Flexera Software he oversees company branding, product management, and marketing strategy. Most recently, Randy was vice president of marketing for Kinaxis where he led strategic marketing efforts for the fast-growth supply chain management solutions company. In addition, Randy has also held executive management posts at Interface Software, Spyglass, Palindrome (a Seagate Co.), and InstallShield.
	Crispin Luxton Crispin Luxton has been with Flexera Software since September 2000. Crispin is currently the EMEA Practice Manager for the Global Consulting Services group, based out of the UK. He has worked with companies of all shapes, sizes and vertical markets; providing global consulting and training expertise on the FlexNet Connect, InstallShield, and AdminStudio solutions. He has worked on many large update/patching strategies, projects and best practices engagements working with companies like Vodafone who currently support approximately 28 million endpoints and Thomson Reuters with their business critical "Eikon" desktop financial product. Crispin was educated at the specialized Computing and Architecture campus of DeMontfort University in Milton Keynes, UK. He holds a First Class Honors Degree in Computer Science.
	Steve Schmidt Steve Schmidt is the Vice President of Corporate Development at Flexera Software, responsible for strategic planning and M&A processes, as well as other cross-product line initiatives. Steve has previously led product planning, positioning and market delivery of Flexera Software’s industry-leading licensing and installation solutions, including the FlexNet, InstallShield and AdminStudio product lines. Steve began his 20+ year technology management career running global IT projects for Procter & Gamble's Advanced Technology Group. Steve received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
	Michael Smith Michael is a Solutions Architect who has spent the last five years working with Flexera Software’s diverse software licensing, entitlement management and compliance solutions. As a principal solutions consultant he provides clients the best practices and strategies for assessing, designing and implementing business solutions for entitlement and license management systems. Michael has evaluated and executed entitlement management and compliance solutions for such clients as Emerson, Cisco Systems, Texas Instruments and Hitachi Data Systems. As a solutions architect he provides clients with effective methodologies and best practices for assessment, discovery, design, build, test and deployment.
	Ram Visvanathan Ram is a versatile strategy and operations professional with proven track record in defining and executing growth and operations strategies for high-tech organizations. In his current role as a Principal Solution Architect, he helps software publishers and intelligent device manufacturers on enabling new software and cloud business models, software monetization strategies and streamlining software operations. Prior to Flexera software, he worked in management consulting helping senior executives of high-tech organizations on their cross-functional strategic and operational challenges. He has an MBA with a focus on General Management and Strategy from the University of Texas at Austin and an undergrad in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from India. Outside work, he is an avid runner, amateur actor and a self-proclaimed “bad” golfer.
	Cris Wendt Cris Wendt is a Principal Consultant with Flexera Software Global Consulting Services Organization. Cris’ focus is on strategic business model issues relating to implementing electronic licensing, as well as the internal change management aspects of undertaking this business transformation. With extensive enterprise software licensing, compliance, pricing and entitlement management experience, Cris focuses on defining and deploying software licensing and pricing models for domestic and international enterprise software vendors.
	David Znidarsic David Znidarsic is Vice President of Technology and a member of the executive staff at Flexera Software. He has been in the technology industry for 24 years, the last eight at Flexera Software. Most recently David has been a spokesman for the transformation of software licensing in the age of virtualization, as well as a key contributor to Flexera Software’s high-tech manufacturing solution.
